Unity Christian Church

Who We Are

The Lord's Supper

The Christian church is a non-denominational fellowship of Christians, bound together by faith in the Word of God and by a desire for the unity of all followers of Christ. The Bible alone is our rule of faith and practice. Our plea for Christian unity is a return to the pattern of Christianity found in the New Testament. We seek to build the Church of our Lord as it is revealed in the New Testament, without man-made additions or subtractions. Where the Scriptures speak, we speak. Where the Scriptures are silent, we are silent. We observe the ordinances of Christian baptism (by immersion) and the Lord's Supper, as they are revealed in the New Testament. In the essentials of God's Word, we seek unity. In matters of opinion, we encourage liberty. In all things, we strive to practice love.

On the night Jesus was betrayed, He took the bread and the cup as a memorial of His death. He broke the bread and ate it, and drank from the cup, asking us to remember His death until He comes again. Scripture teaches that the church met together on the first day of the week to participate in the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7). We follow this example and observe the Lord's Supper every Sunday.
